Jack and the corn stalk
A Kansas farmer sent his son Jack to check on the corn. Jack was a small guy so he needed to bring a ladder. Jack looked for the the biggest and greenest stalk and climbed up it. When Jack was ready to come down he realized that the corn stalk was going while he was on it. Jack had no choice but to stay up there all night. The next day his dad started to get worried so he climbed a windmill and saw his son on the corn corn stalk. When his father saw him up on the corn stalk he asked some people to help him cut it down. They tried to cut it down but they realized it was not working. So he told his son to stay up there until the drought came so the corn stalk would stopped going.

Pecos Bill Rides a tornado
Pecos Bill was a bull rider from the west that could ride anything. There is only one time in his life that he has been thrown off. That time is when rode a tornado. One day the sky was turning black and green. The storm was roaring so loud it woke people up form around the world. When the tornado touched down Pecos Bill grabbed it and pushed it to the ground. When it was on the ground he hop on its back. The tornado started to whip around trying to throw Pecos Bill off. Pecos Bill was to good of a rider for the tornado. After a while the tornado started to head west and right when the tornado started dying down Pecos Bill fell off. The spot where he fell off is called the death valley.
Archetype-Pecos Bill was the hero of the story.You could also say he had a journey.

The Devil's Chair
In the 1800s an old farmer had a little plot of land that the towns officials wanted to buy the land from him but would never let them by it. One day he was collecting water from his well that was on his property. When he was pulling the bucket back up someone snuck up behind him and pushed him in the well. The towns officials came a week later to ask him to sell the property one more time. When they got to the property, they smelled an awful smell coming rom the well. They looked down the well and saw the dead old man. Today that well is in the middle of Alma Cemetery and it as known as the devils chair.

Molly was an African American woman that fell in love with a white man. When the townspeople found out about their relationship they did not approve. Soon after this, Molly went missing and was later found hanging from a tree in Jackson Park. It is said that the ghostly figure of Molly haunts the ground to this very day.

Legend tells of a man dressed in all black can be sen walking back and forth along US 56 near 189th street in Kansas. He walks for a while on the side of the road before suddenly vanishing right in front of your eyes. No one has been able to determine who the man was or why he continues to haunt this span of the road.

The Jailer's Inn is a bed and breakfast in Bardstown, Kansas. This is one of the most haunted places in America, that paranormal activity supposedly springs from the buildings history. Over 200 years The Jailer's Inn held criminals, many who died while staying in the inn. Most of the hauntings occurred in the courtyard, which was used to hang men that had been put to death. Many people have said they have had conversations with the spirits who had their necks snapped.

In the back hills of Kentucky, near the Ohio River, something stalks those woods. The locals believe the creature is the hillbilly beast of Kentucky. They say the creature is built like big foot and communicates in grunts and moans that is instantly recognizable. The creature also has glowing green eyes and a horrible smell.
